Chris Adler’s Book

New Book ‘The Making of Lamb Of God’s New American Gospel’ by Lamb Of God Drummer Chris Adler

The Making of Lamb of God New American Gospel

“The Making of Lamb of God New American Gospel”  is a new 100+ page book by Chris Adler, famed drummer of the heavy metal band Lamb of God. The book contains drum tablature for the songs featured on the album New American Gospel (which Adler describes as “probably our most difficult album to complete”) , as well as personal photos and stories about the making of the album.

The book starts, appropriately, with the story of the beginning of the formation of Lamb of God, when John, Mark and Chris were known as Burn The Priest, and then the addition of Abe, a former professional photographer, to the band’s ranks.  Here Lamb of God fans can get the scoop on the band’s formation and early days.  Other stories are interspersed between drum tab notations, and a detailed list of Adler’s drum setup is also included, which is valuable information for drummers emulating his style.

Also included is information about the writing of Lamb Of God’s signature song,  Black Label, a song Adler describes as “bigger than the album and the band”,  commentary on the controversial Letter To The Unborn song (who’s lyrics are not printed in the booklet, at the choice of singer Randy), and numerous onstage and backstage / behind-the-scenes photos of Chris performing and hanging out.  More than just a tablature book, fans will gain an understanding of the technical aspects of the songs and the writing of and collaborative process surrounding this revered album.
