The Features opened for Kevin Devine at the St. Louis Old Rock House on Sept. 10, 2011, on tour to promote their newest CD, Wilderness.
The Features hail from Tennessee and bring with them their brand of Nashville rock. The venuewas rather chilly that night, but it warmed up pretty quickly when The Features took to the stage. Their sound was gritty and raw, and Matt Pelham immediately grabbed the audience’s attention with his powerful vocals.
Rollum Haas was a main focus for many of the ladies in the crowd and blew everyone away with his mad drumming skills….such energy! Roger Dabbs kept everyone’s heart thumping with his bass playing, and Mark Bond on the dual keyboards was just the right touch! The song “Lions” was especially a crowd favorite.
The Features did surprise many in crowd who were there to see the headliner Kevin Devine, but from what others were saying, I think they added on quite a few new fans in St. Louis. At the rate they are going, I’m sure they will be headlining on their next visit.
