Battle for Mayhem

AFM Battles 1 & 2 for Rockstar Mayhem Fest, at Fubar, June 30, 2012 and July 6, 2012

Archfront Media put together a couple of big metal shows for bands to battle it out for two spots on the Sumerian Records stage at this year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. One lucky band from each show would get a spot on the side stage and be exposed to a larger audience. Part One was on Saturday, June 30, 2012 and Part Two was on Friday, July 6, 2012, at Fubar . I cannot personally speak about Part Two, as that was not a show that I could attend. However, I thought Part One was one of the better metal shows that I have been to in recent times. It was a quality production all around and a long night of skull-crushing madness. Substructure, Icon And Anchor, The Ninth Circle, As Earth Shatters, Bleed The Divine, Exit 714, Sicfaist, Colors From A Cannon, and Tear Out The Heart were all on the first bill. The second consisted of  Lyluth, Invicta, Tear Out The Heart, BlackFast, Casino, Bleed The Divine, In My Silence, Fiera, Cast Madness, and A Message From Martyrs.

After all was said and done, Icon And Anchor, from the initial show, and then BlackFast, both secured a spot for Friday, July 20th of 2012 at Verizon Wireless Ampitheater on the Sumerian Records stage. I have actually seen BlackFast before at a different Fubar show, and this was my first time to witness Icon And Anchor. Both deserved the recognition.  Horns up to all the bands and fans that made it possible for these two bands to metal up!

Be sure to check out all of the necessary affiliation links along with the band links (highlighed names in the article are clickable links, for more info). When visiting the Rockstar Mayhem Fest website, note that they have a short survey available to communicate your thoughts about the 2012 festival.
